Field Day
Save the date!! Our annual field day is coming up on May 9th. Come join the students as they enjoy a day full of fun & games outside. If you would like to volunteer and haven’t turned in your volunteer form, please contact Allison Moore at allib5@verizon.net or angie.mccrary@wylieisd.net.
And the WINNER is ...
Congratulations to Dodd Elementary for winning the paper recycling contest. Over the course of 4 months, Dodd recycled over 19,000 pounds of paper. WOW!!!! How many trees did we save? GO DODD!!! We would also like to offer our congratulations to Birmingham & Akin for their efforts in this contest. A huge THANK YOU to Mayor John Mondy for donating the trees to our campus for winning this contest and to Tip Top Lawn Care for lending their time & expertise in planting these trees.

Current Events

Time to Bond
We’ve come to the time of the school year where it’s harder to get up in the morning and harder to come inside in the evenings. We have quick dinners to make it to soccer and baseball practice, and we keep close to the weather radio to monitor the Spring storms. It’s been a great year at Dodd, and we have had a fantastic time bringing you all of the events and programs that spanned this year. We hope you were able to make it out to at least one of our fun nights- Science Night, the Carnival, Heritage Night, and our very informative Internet Safety program. If you were a volunteer this year, we thank you for the time you donated to help our Dino-kids. We’d like to recognize all of you at our final meeting of the year on May 13 at 7:00 pm in the lunchroom. We’ll have an ice cream party to celebrate how cool it is to be a volunteer. And if you didn’t get a chance this year to spend some time at school, make the commitment now to be there next year. It’s an experience you won’t regret. Have a great summer!

We LOVE our Dodd Staff!!
Teacher Appreciation week is May 5th-9th and the PTA is planning a week of goodies. The PTA will be in need of volunteers and snack foods (granola bars, small bags of chips, candy bars, fresh fruit, etc.).
  • Monday: Breakfast- will need volunteers to help serve!
  • Tuesday: Coffee gift cards!
  • Wednesday: Bath and Body lotion/ Blockbuster movie rental!
  • Thursday: Luncheon Olive Garden- will need volunteers for desserts and servers!
  • Friday: Snacks and Drinks- will need volunteers and donations!
